Astrobot is the best platformer I have played since Mario 64. Its stew of tactility, interactivity and videogame history elevates it beyond hundreds, if not thousands of other platformers. It has a credible claim to being on the all-time mount rushmore of PlayStation.
It's that good. I liked AstroBot, but having played the VR one the PS5 version hits much less. The VR aspect really lifted the original game way above most platformers, while on a screen the shortcomings stand out much more. Yeah, I was one of the people saying the VR game was an evolution for platformers and I had more fun with it than Mario and all that.
astrobot ratings , AstroBot Rescue mission gave me goosebumps when I experienced it and VR for the first time. It was akin to the feeling I had when I played Mario 64 for the first time with its jump from 2D to 3D. I'm hoping that Team Asobi finds a way to port Rescue Mission, PlayRoom and Adventures to PSVR2. To me it was the best game I played last gen.
