455 Rancher - Gadget Planet

I modded my 455 Rancher by setting it on a shelf in the garage and buying a 550XP and a 562XP Sounds snarky, but it is my serious suggestion. The Rancher is too heavy a saw to "use a lot" even modded (I'd guess; never modded mine). I liked my Rancher a lot -- 8 cords a years (felling, bucking, noodling, limbing, you name it) for ten years until I decided to get real.

Best wood-cutting decision ... My Husqvarna 455 rancher currently has an 18" bar on it and I would like to get a 20" for the larger rounds. I have looked on Baily's, but not sure what bar and chain manufacture is the best bang for the buck and the large selection looks like I could easily make the wrong choice. YMMV.

455 rancher, I have also used the 455 w/ 24" chain for a little milling, but that's definitely not a strength of that saw. Very slow. Stoves: BIS Ultima, Napoleon 1100CP, Woodstock Fireview Saws: Husky 359, Husky Rancher 455, Makita "8401", Makita "7901" Chainsaw mills: Granberg small-log Alaskan, 30" Panther Mill, Logosol Timberjig I’ve got a Husqvarna 455 Rancher, with a 20” bar, that I like. It starts very easy and runs great in even the coldest weather and it’s just out of warranty. However, compared to my Stihl MS 441 it’s a dog.

455 rancher, Mostly, I use the MS 441 because it's such a beast. Just for fun and the experience I’d... I have a Husqvarna 455 rancher chainsaw that wont start. I am not getting a spark. I have replaced the ignition module and gaped it. Still no good.I have removed the kill switch wire & sill no spark.

As a last resort I replaced the spark plug and still no good. I am out of ideas any help will be... I'm trying to replace a Husqvarna 455 Rancher bar with markings 18/45 058/15 3/8 68DL 107798 GW. I've been using the H48-68 chain for years with good luck with this bar.
